District Treasures
National Museum of African American History & Culture - Audience Engagement, Washington, DC
District Treasures, a Save Our African American Treasures program will be hosted at NMAAHC. Register to attend a one on one session with preservation specialists and receive a professional review of your family treasures and heirlooms. Attendees will gain insight on the historical significance of their items and explore best practices for preservation. This session will focus on objects, ephemera, textiles, paper, books and photographs. Note: Registrants can bring no more than three items for review. Space is limited.
- Weapons of any type, furniture, and artwork are prohibited.
- All participants must enter through security screening
- Items for District Treasures should be no larger than a “brown grocery bag”
- Upon arrival sign-in at the Heritage Hall Welcome Desk
