DESCRIPTION
Parking Rules:
Drivers
- Must show the printed parking permit and their Smithsonian ID badge when parking
Parking permits
- Must be printed and presented to the security officer, with your Smithsonian ID badge when entering the parking lot
- Are not transferable
- Only valid for the date/times printed on the permit
- Lost parking permits must be reported to OPS immediately by calling 202-633-3900 or emailing ParkingOffice@si.edu
Your Vehicle
- Must display the parking permit on the dashboard while parked on SI premises
- Must not block entrances, driveways, walks, loading platforms, or fire hydrants
- Is subject to towing at the owner's expense if parking rules are violated
During weather emergencies and other SI shutdowns, all daily parking will be cancelled and refunded. Daily parking spaces will be provided first come/first served at no cost to essential staff responding to the weather emergency.
