General Public Passes - National Air and Space Museum, Washington, DC
You are reserving free passes for the National Air and Space Museum Washington, DC location.
Reserved passes are NOT needed at the Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, VA.
The National Air and Space Museum in Washington, DC is open every day except December 25 from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm. Free timed-entry passes are required to visit. Entry times are hourly from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. More information can be found at the Museum's FAQ. Sometimes additional passes become available; if you do not initially find passes for the day you would like to visit, check back on our website.
Same-day passes are released beginning at 8:30 am each morning via this webpage.
Same-day passes often book very quickly.
Important Conditions: The Museum's timed entry pass reservation system is for visitors’ personal use only, and passes are only valid for the date and time on visitor's pass, and only for those in their party. Passes may not be sold or transferred. Reservations that violate these conditions may be canceled.
Personal Belongings
We encourage you to limit the number of personal belongings and bags you bring into our facilities, which will increase your speed through security check points. Please note that we do not offer coat or bag storage.
Many items are prohibited at all Smithsonian museums
Do not bring sharp items such as knives (including pocket or "Swiss Army" style knives), screwdrivers, scissors, wallet tools, etc. Other items not permitted include firearms, pepper spray, and Mace.
Entry
Expect and plan for a queue for entry. Space around the exterior of the Museum is limited due to ongoing construction. To prevent excess time queuing in warm, cold, or inclement weather, do not arrive earlier than the time on your pass. The Museum is accessible via the Independence Avenue SW public entrance only. Food at the Museum
At this time, the Mars Café, located on the lower level, will be open 10:00 am - 5:00 pm with a full espresso bar and serving salads and sandwiches. Outside food is not permitted to be consumed in the building. You may bring a refillable water bottle.

- Companions: Personal care attendants accompanying a visitor must have a free timed-entry pass.
- Service animals are welcome at Smithsonian museums. Service animals, as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act, are dogs trained to do work or perform specific tasks for a visitor with a disability.
