The songs that make up "Jump for Joy"—the sharpest and most autobiographical that Taylor has written under the Hiss name—read as a sort of epistolary, postcards between the present-day songwriter and his alias Michael Crow, a teenaged dreamer very much like Taylor himself, who trips his way through the 14 tunes that make up the record. In this way, "Jump for Joy" is a meditation on a life lived with art, and the ways that our hopes and dreams and decisions bump up against—and, with a little bit of luck, occasionally merge with—real life.

Tony Starlight takes us to church! After over thirty years on stage as a professional musician and entertainer, Tony returns to the music that started the journey. For this special show, Tony and pianist/organist Craig Bidondo will perform secular and sacred songs of faith. The setlist will include the first songs Tony learned to play on guitar in 1986 at Christ The King Lutheran Church in Bozeman, MT, to popular songs by U2, Neil Diamond, Johnny Cash, and some fun surprises.

Through humorous and heartfelt stories Tony will testify about returning to regular church attendance after a 30-year absence and the personal REVIVAL that’s resulted from immersion in a life led by faith. It’ll make you do strange things! For example: go on mission trips to Kenya and the Abacos Islands, take a job teaching music at a church preschool, or create Starlight Academy, a music school beginning this Fall. Or rent an old church in downtown Portland and host a revival.

Join us for an evening of music, laughter, worship, and REVIVAL.

    Tony Starlight: guitar and voice

Craig Bidondo: piano, organ, and voice

In 2020, after Jordy Searcy made a name as a homegrown touring act and a landmark songwriter for his generation, he left Nashville behind and hopped into his touring-van-turned-camper and drove to the west coast. The 2022 album Daylight is the sound of that uncertain adventurous time, surfing up and down the west coast, writing songs in remote outdoor locations in solitude for weeks at a time and touring the country with friends

All of that changed in February 2022 when he met his now-wife, Michel Janse. A previous album titled “UFO” had been written, recorded and scrapped, because jordy found a new direction-The End Of Us.

The End Of Us is an album about endings and beginnings-the end of the adventure a single musician in his 20’s discovering the world and taking risks, and the beginning of building a life with the person you want to spend it with. The end of relentlessly chasing a career in a music city, and the beginning of a quiet creative life in the small beach town of Oceanside, CA where jordy now lives. For his wife Michel, this record also has special meaning-this is her 2nd marriage, and the record explores her story and her healing process.

Enlisting the help of longtime friend and hometown buddy Phillip Vo to write and produce, this record is energetic, California summery, Beatlesy, and fresh organic pop all in one. Relying on craft, inspiration, and fun, “The End Of Us” is a no-skips good time.

“Everyone’s life has little endings, its one of the only things you can rely on. For me, it doesn’t matter what you leave behind when something ends, its what you build going forward. That’s what this album is about-allowing yourself to become a new person, with a new person. I can’t wait for people to hear these songs!”

With her latest album, Highlander, bluegrass/Americana icon Missy Raines takes inventory of where she stands at this current juncture in her storied career — this melodic ode to her native West Virginia, which simultaneously serves as an ideal prism of time and space Raines peers through into the unknowns of tomorrow.

“Making this record and having this band has been sort of a homecoming,” the legendary bassist/vocalist says. “I’m at a point in my life where I’ve been able to look back at what I’ve gone through, what I’ve done, and the path I ultimately wanted to take.”

Throughout her storied career, Raines has garnered some of the biggest accolades in the music industry, including 14 International Bluegrass Music Association honors, with 10 being awarded for “Bass Player of the Year.” Raines’ 2018 release Royal Traveller was also nominated for a Grammy Award for “Best Bluegrass Album” in 2020.

Highlander brings together some of the finest musicians in Nashville and beyond, including country star and fellow West Virginian Kathy Mattea; fiddle virtuosos Michael Cleveland, Bronwyn Keith-Hynes, Darol Anger and Shad Cobb; renowned bluegrass vocalists Danny Paisley, Dudley Connell and Laurie Lewis; with dobro wizard Rob Ickes and banjo great Alison Brown also making guest appearances.

“I’m embracing bluegrass again, and it’s all been incredibly good for me,” Raines says. “In every sense of the way, I almost can just go back [in my mind] and rely on those intrinsic things I learned as a15-year-old in a field at a bluegrass festival — tapping into how I felt back then, and how I still feel today about this music.”

With modern-day bluegrass currently experiencing another high-water mark as names like Billy Strings, Molly Tuttle and Sierra Hull proudly carry the torch of tradition and evolution, Raines finds solidarity in the ongoing growth and progress of the “high, lonesome sound” — this fine line between respect and rebellion that Raines has seamlessly balanced since the beginning.

“I watched that first generation of [bluegrass] people doing all that — creating traditional music, then breaking away from it to do their own thing,” Raines says. “And all of it is still surviving and flourishing. To me, there’s nothing more bluegrass than the act of absolute innovation — and that’s what we’re doing, because that’s what Monroe did from the start.”

British-Brazilan singer-songwriter Liana Flores pairs dream-like vignettes of her intimate world with wistful guitar melodies to get lost in, combining a unique and intoxicating range of stylistic influences from British folk and classic jazz to ‘60s Brazilian bossa nova.

Following the runaway global success of her self-released track 'rises the moon', Liana's debut album 'Flower of the Soul', produced by Noah Georgeson (Joanna Newsom, Devendra Banhart, Natalia Lafourcade) is a truly transportive debut; an album that is a clear statement of artistic intent. Across its runtime, Flores paints vivid pictures of nature, fantasy, love and loss with her crystalline vocals always ensuring that the listener is placed directly into her world.

Following sold out album release shows in the US and the UK, Liana now embarks on a 28 day tour of the US, UK and Europe this fall.

“Showcases her breathtaking voice over lush, elegant arrangements." - FADER

“Liana Flores’ soothing voice is as diaphanous as her finger-picked jazz guitar.” Uproxx

Hayd found solace and expression in music after enduring a challenging breakup during high school. Beginning his musical journey as a means of emotional release, he started writing his own songs and sharing them online. In 2019, he gained traction by emailing his music to popular lyric channels on YouTube, gradually building a dedicated following.

His breakthrough came in 2020 when a snippet of his track "Changes" went viral on TikTok, propelling him into the spotlight. At just 18, he signed with Interscope Records, foregoing college to focus on his music career. His debut EP, "Changes," released shortly after signing, achieved remarkable success, accumulating over one billion global streams.

Relocating to Los Angeles in 2022, Hayd found synergy with fellow artists David Kushner, Chance Peña, Jonah Kagen, and Sarcastic Sounds, collaborating and refining his craft. The same year, he embarked on his first headline tour across Asia, performing for a collective audience of over 30,000 fans. He also made history as the first international guest artist on "The Masked Singer Vietnam," singing his hit single "Head In The Clouds."

In 2023, Hayd showcased his versatility as a songwriter, penning chart-topping hits such as "Daylight" (1B+ streams) and "Burn" (110M+ streams) for David Kushner, as well as "I Am Not Who I Was" (180M+ streams) for Chance Peña. The following year, he joined Chance Peña as the opening act for his sold-out US/EU tour.

Hayd's eagerly anticipated sophomore EP, "HOW CLOSE AM I?," is slated for release in August, preceding his headline world tour scheduled for September. With his distinct sound and poignant storytelling, Hayd continues to captivate audiences globally.

GKO returns to The Old Church to play a selection of originals from his new album, The Moon Goddess, and improvisations of beloved classics, ranging from Debussy to David Bowie. In celebration of the autumnal full moon, each song pays homage to the lunar planet and the dreams of visiting there again.

Since the release of his first album, "Sonic Sanctum" (2020), GKO has been pioneering what's possible with the piano. Critics describe his playing as "performing wizardry, flowing yet bright, lively and heroic... with moments of nostalgia, reverie, and reflection." He combines decades of classical training with a gift for improvisation to speak with a candor all his own.

With his latest single, "Her Voice," GKO combines the rhythmic ferocity of modern jazz with the gentle beauty of Chopin. He says, "I want this song to showcase the power of the piano, how it can make you feel scared, excited, and serene. I believe the piano allows us to express emotion with a depth nothing else can match."

Born in California, GKO took his first lesson at 5. He was a reluctant student until his studies at Harvard, where he focused on piano performance and composition. GKO produced the first-ever Piano Performance Thesis in Harvard's history and received the David McCord Prize for exceptional musical talent and creativity. GKO has appeared on stages worldwide, including nine appearances at Carnegie Hall, and has performed as a guest artist at notable institutions, including The British Museum, TED, the MIT Media Lab, Berklee College of Music, and Tanglewood Institute of Music. His piano music can also be heard on tracks by The Black Keys, Foster the People, and Handsome Boy Modeling School.

GKO resides in Los Angeles. The Japanese indigo-boutique FDMTL outfits his concert wear. He is a Young Steinway Artist.

Born and raised in Detroit’s inner-city,
BLKBOK (Pronounced “Black Bach”) is a critically acclaimed, neo-classical piano prodigy who fuses pop and hip-hop culture with classical music in his live piano based performance. BLKBOK’s debut album, Black Book, served as a founding cornerstone at the very first Juneteenth Foundation’s Freedom Concert. He uses dexterous arrangements and melodic scores to audibly illustrate the innovative and disruptive musical landscape that is BLKBOK

“When people see me, snapback, inked up Black man, they make a lot of assumptions about me, people expect me to start rapping, and they’re not 100% wrong, I am a rapper. Except I spit lyrics and I tell my stories through my hands, with these notes… You see me one way, you hear me another. It’s about marrying those two concepts and building bridges through music.” BIKBOK

“All of these things, the pop music influence, the Motown influence, the classical influence–all of these things came together at one point and that’s how I am positioned in my true authentic self… I’m someone who studied classical music as a child but also was very influenced by hip hop and pop music–and toured with a bunch of pop acts … this is just the manifestation of so many things coming together.”  BLKBOK

“Growing up, I was into hip-hop and rap like all the kids in my neighborhood, but I was also obsessed with the music of Mozart, Debussy and Bach – just as much as I was with Mos Def, or Biggie, or Busta Rhymes…” BLKBOK

When you listen to Over the Rhine, the supremely talented musical couple comprised of Karin Bergquist and Linford Detweiler, you quickly fall under the spell of Karin’s timeless voice “which has the power to stop the world in its tracks” (Performing Songwriter). But then the songs start hitting you. Paste Magazine writes, “Over the Rhine creates true confessional masterpieces that know neither border nor boundary” and included Bergquist and Detweiler in their list of 100 Best Living Songwriters. Rolling Stone recently wrote, Over the Rhine is a band “with no sign of fatigue, whose moment has finally arrived.” That’s quite a sentiment for a band celebrating 30 years of writing, recording, and life on the road. But as Karin Bergquist states, “There is still so much music left to be made.” Love & Revelation, the brand new album from Over the Rhine, is a record for right now. The songs have been rigorously road tested and burst at the seams with loss, lament, and resilient hope. The LA Times writes, “The Ohio based husband and wife duo has long been making soul-nourishing music, and the richness only deepens.”
